FD 27 Direct Your Football Club FD 27 Staff Hire Order

S-tier is the physio you did not want to pay in August.

Staff Hire Order

Every new FD 27 owner opens sporting direction first. The transfer list is glamorous. The medical department is a cost centre with a delayed fuse. This ranking exists because that fuse is the whole game. Pair the list with how to hire staff for contracts and with Getting Started if you have not made a first hire yet.

S — Medical department

The head of medical decides how fast players return and how many single-day knocks become a revolving door. Version 0.1 simulates traumatic injuries and short muscular ones, down to day-long absences. A poor medical team is not the occasional absentee. It is a treatment room that never empties.

The effect arrives about six months late. Skimp in August and you will not feel clever until February, when the calendar is dense and the bench is a teenager. No other hire punishes you this indirectly. That delay is why medical is S-tier on a teaching save and still A-tier on a giant: even rich clubs play three games a week in spring.

A — Sporting director and head coach

The sporting director is your right hand in the market. A good one opens better signing options. The effect is immediate and visible, therefore fixable. That is why this seat is A, not S. You can see a barren shortlist this week. You cannot see February’s infirmary this week.

The head coach sits beside that seat in spirit. You do not draw the shape, but you hired the brain that makes three-window substitutions. If changes look foolish for a month, it is not a missing shout button. Replace the coach. Match day is the diagnostic. Interim coaches appear after a clean mutual termination; older demo bugs left people at work after a handshake, later patched.

B — Marketing

Marketing changes which brands will talk to you and therefore your revenue. It pays for itself, but it is useless if you have no attractive slots to sell yet. Shirt, sleeve, shorts and stadium are four contracts explained in how to get sponsors. Fill medical and a competent sporting director before you chase a flashy commercial director on a League One budget.

C — Finance in small divisions, A at the top

Finance keeps the books honest. In League Two, cash flows are simple enough that you can stall a window. At the top of the pyramid you cannot. Promote this seat when television, loans and assembly fines stack. Fines now forecast in the yearly balance, so the finance lead is how you see June coming. Details in how to manage finances.

Locked until brickwork — youth coaches

Youth coaches and the youth coordinator are tied to the academy facility. They will not appear in the staff list until you build it. Do not hunt a post you have not unlocked. That is a facilities problem first: see facilities priority.

Staff reports on players gained thousands of situational lines in a v0.1 update. Read them. Scouts no longer recite generalities. Scouting reports is the companion page.

Salaries matter. A pre-launch pass removed a 10,000 minimum that wrecked tiny clubs, then made the floor dynamic. Employee pay was also lowered for very small divisions after losses piled up. Still: a brilliant name on a League One wage bill can be a C-tier hire because the number does not fit. Rank the seat, then rank the contract.

This order is for owners who want the systems to stay readable. If you are already a giant with a full medical wing, skip to sporting direction and the transfer market. If you are not, pay the physio before you pay the celebrity.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers for the boardroom questions owners actually search.

Why not sporting director first?

His effect is visible this week. Medical's effect arrives in winter. Fix the delayed bill first.

Where are youth coaches?

Locked behind the academy building. Build it, then they appear. Facilities explains the eight buildings.

Can I fire and replace mid-season?

Yes. Mutual termination should free an interim. If someone stays after a handshake, that was a known demo bug later patched. Check patch notes.

Does this change in the Premier League?

Medical stays vital. Finance climbs. Marketing pays faster because slots are worth more. The delayed injury bill does not disappear.
