Create-a-club is the late Early Access sketch for FD 27: Direct Your Football Club, not a hidden menu in version 0.1. Syra Games published it as phase 0.4, aimed around May 2027: name, city, crest, kit, starting stadium and founding budget, then place the club in an existing league and fight upward. Identity and philosophy are supposed to be yours from day one. If a custom badge is the only reason you opened Steam, wait. If you wanted the owner loop — departments, wages, shirts, medical delay — version 0.1 is already a classroom. This page keeps those two desires from arguing in the same inbox.

What 0.1 gives you instead

You acquire a club from England and Spain: Premier League, Championship, League One, League Two, La Liga, Segunda. Experience mode lets you buy more freely. Campaign mode removes the purchase budget, so the chair is already a constraint. Difficulty also gates which names you can sit in. None of those modes is a custom crest. Club vision still lets you write playing style, transfer policy, academy commitment and financial profile onto an existing institution. That is identity work on a borrowed badge, not create-a-club. A later phase, 0.6 on the same published plan, sketches selling your current club and taking another at season end. That is still not a custom badge. It is a change of project. Do not start a 0.1 save expecting to found “your” town in January. Sit in League One or Segunda if you want the systems readable. Club picks and the club picker exist for that choice.

What the 0.4 sketch actually lists

Steam’s July 2026 roadmap post is specific. Create your own club from scratch: name, city, crest, kit, starting stadium, founding budget. Choose the league to compete in: place the club in any of the existing leagues and fight to the top. Own identity and philosophy: decide what the club represents, control culture and playing style from the start. The earlier May post used badge instead of crest and said drop the club into any existing league. Same idea. Neither post promises licensed real-world cities or a full editor on day one of 0.4. Treat the bullet list as a sketch, not a feature checklist you can quote in a refund thread.

Phase 0.2 is sketched to expand the map before 0.4: European competition with league phases and knockouts, a Chinese league as the first Asian competition, and extra European nations named in the same post (Italy, Germany, France, Russia, Netherlands, Portugal, Belgium, Czechia, Turkey, Poland, Scotland). If 0.4 lets you “place the club in any existing league,” that menu will be as wide as the map at that moment, not as wide as your imagination in August 2026. Do not design a Scottish custom club into a 0.1 save and then blame the engine.

How to spend the wait

Play the office you have. Hire medical first. Do not dump the shirt. Build training before the museum. Vote in the league assembly with the forecast open. Keep the youth academy honest: U19 now, age-eleven depth later. The Early Access review is whether the owner fantasy is enough without a custom badge. The demo versus full page exists because a free hour still teaches the loop.

Pricing notes on the same roadmap: the 0.1 base was stated at €11.99, with no guarantee it stays there for the whole project. Buying early was framed as a reward for people who backed the idea from the start. Steam is the number on the button. This sentence is not a coupon.
